About Kadir Temiz
Kadir Temiz is the Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM), a leading non-partisan, non-profit think tank based in Ankara, Türkiye, specializing in research, publication, and education on the Middle East and North Africa. He teaches as an assistant professor at the Department of International Relations at İstanbul Medeniyet University. He also serves as Managing Editor of the Journal of Middle Eastern Studies (Ortadoğu Etüdleri). Temiz graduated from Beykent University with a degree in International Relations (2006) and holds an MA in Political Studies from Istanbul Technical University. He earned his doctorate from Boğaziçi University’s Atatürk Institute for Modern Turkish History with a dissertation on ‘The Rise of China and the Middle East: Chinese Foreign Policy Towards Iran, Israel and Turkey, 2001-2011’ (2017). He has studied at Peking University Institute of International Studies and Shanghai International Studies University. His expertise covers Chinese foreign policy, China–Middle East relations, Türkiye-MENA relations, and East Asian politics. Temiz is also affiliated with Boğaziçi University’s Asian Studies Centre and has previously held positions at İstanbul Şehir University and George Washington University.
