About Mustafa Metin Başbay

Dr. Mustafa Metin Başbay is a development economist, focusing on macro-level development policies. His areas of research include international political economy, applied econometrics, macroeconomics, and particularly fiscal policy. Since 2019, he works as a teaching fellow at the Department of Development Studies in SOAS-University of London. He also published analysis papers at TRT World Research Centre between 2018-2021. Başbay holds a PhD and an MA from the University of Cambridge, and an MA from Boğaziçi University. He completed his undergraduate education at Boğaziçi University with a double major in Economics and Sociology
