Nationalism has been one of the main dynamics that shaped the MENA region in the post WWI era. It fundamentally changed the political loyalties of the peoples in the region, and reshaped it around national consciousness. The purpose of this course is to provide a theoretical background and understanding about state, nations and nationalism. This course aims to provide strong foundation for evaluating the causes and consequences of nationalism in the Middle East.
