About Serhat Orakçı

Serhat Orakçı was born in Turkey in 1980. He obtained a BA in economics from the Economy Faculty of Istanbul University in 2001. He then completed his MA in historical studies at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa in 2007. He worked as a project director for the IHH Foundation in Sudan and took part in various community development projects. From 2011 to 2016, he worked for the IHH Foundation as an Africa Relief Coordinator. Until 2024, he worked as a researcher at INSAMER (Social and Humanitarian Research Center). Orakçı completed his PhD study on the “question of national integration in Sudan” at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in 2020 and currently works at Haliç University as an assistant professor.
