Political Islam

Throughout the past four decades, researchers and analysts have written extensively on political Islam movements (PIMs) in an attempt to understand their ideology, political behavior and internal culture. However, the Arab uprisings and their aftermath ushered in new dynamics at the national and regional levels, and unleashed deep and ongoing processes of transformation within these movements. This has obligated analysts to engage in a renewed effort to understand these movements and to develop novel conceptual frameworks suited to the new and shifting terrains.

In light of this, Al Sharq Strategic Research launched its program on Political Islam with the participation of leading scholars and analysts specialized in the study of such movements.
